I was tasked with generating interest throughout Uganda for a seemingly uninteresting phone. To turn it into a hot commodity, I named the product “Kabiriti” (meaning “on fire” in the local language). With buy-in from a local celebrity rap artist, the campaign generated much interest and the phone itself became a talking point. Everyone wanted a Kabiriti and MTN’s phone quickly flew off shelves.
