MTN launched an extremely interesting project that allowed customers to save on airtime calls – up to 99% depending on their location within Uganda. Nobody within the market was doing anything nearly as interesting as consumers where scrambling around finding the best location to make reduced calling at peak call time hours. The team and I named the product MTN Zone and drove benefits of the product through various creative executions. This campaign generated a surge in over 1 million new or crossover subscribers from other mobile providers.
